Checklist for a Mining Career

Standard Requirements

All positions of employment on mine sites within Australia have some minimum standard requirements and conditions to be met. These include:

• Able to pass a full medical

• Able to pass a pre-employment drug test

• Able to provide a police clearance

• Have a manual drivers licence for underground mining

• Have an Unrestricted HR licence for open cut mining & off siding work

• Be prepared to get a Senior First Aid Ticket

• Able to work 12 hour shifts

• Able to work night shift

• Able to fly on small planes

• Able to work in a hazardous environment

• Able to work at heights

• Able to relocate for work

• Be committed to working safely
